An official in the MDC-T Promise Mkwananzi has said the squabbles in the ruling Zanu PF has left the state broken to a point ofripenning the time
for the MDC-T to take over the running of the country.
He said on the 7th of March 2007, MDC-T President Morgan Tsvangirai and others tried to stage a peaceful march at the Zimbabwe grounds in
Highfields.
"They were arrested and brutally assaulted by the police. Gift Tandare, an MDC-T Activist was shot dead in the melee. Of course those who shot Tandare have never been brought to book. In the ensuing years, many of the democracy activists were brutally murdered Tonderai Ndira, Better
Chokururama and many others, reaching the climax in 2008 when Mugabe's power faced a real danger of slipping away," he said. "On the 9 of March 2016, exactly 9 years after the brutal assault, Morgan Tsvangirai and others finally staged a successful march calling for the return of Itai
Dzamara, a human rights activist who mysteriously disappeared at the hands of state security agents."
He said on Wednesday a successful march was very significant in the struggle for democracy in Zimbabwe for the recovery of abducted human
rights activist Itai Dzamara.
"The march exposed the weariness, fatigue and powerlessness of the state and it's apparatus yo stop or stifle popular discontent that has been
building over the years. Recent internal implosions in the ruling party, and by conflation, in the state has left the state broken and vulnerable,
with conflict commands from the warring commanders," he said. "The time is ripe to press the regime even harder, in particular for electoral, economic and political reforms. By the time we reach 2018, if ever, Zanu-PF and it's oppressive machinery will have disentangled itself and on its way out! Who would have thought?"
