A 20-YEAR-OLD hooker was last week allegedly murdered by her 19-year-old client following a $2 payment dispute for the service she had offered him.
Confirming the incident which occurred at Murambinda Growth Point on March 5, Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa, said the name of the woman would be released when her next of kin were informed.
He said Ngqabutho Nyoni of Chikwekwende Village under Chief Makumbe in Buhera approached the 20-year-old girl who was sitting in a bar on the day in question at around 1am.
"He proposed to have sex with her for $2. The two agreed to have sex and they went outside the bar. After the act, the accused paid the $2, but he later demanded it back. He tried to snatch the money from the deceased, but failed.
"The hooker tried to run for her life, but the suspect picked an empty beer bottle, pursued her and struck her on the forehead. He fled from the scene. She sustained a deep cut, fell down and bled profusely," said Insp Kakohwa.
She woke up later and made a report at Murambinda Police Station where she was referred to Murambinda Mission Hospital. She was admitted at around 2pm and was later referred to Mutare Provincial Hospital where she died on her way.
