Mnangagwa allies fight back

Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa's Midlands allies have scoffed at the no-confidence vote passed against them and defiantly went on a membership recruitment exercise in Zvishavane on Saturday, describing their suspension from the Zanu-PF provincial co-ordinating committee by the Tapiwa Matangaidze led executive as a legal nullity.

Matangaidze who is believed to be a member of the G40 faction last Friday booted out Mnangagwa's allies politburo member, July member, war veterans secretary-general Victor Matemadanda.

The suspensions were said to be inconsequential and a joke.
