Man causes juvenile's eye to be remove after assault

A MAN from Mantanjeni Village Mbembesi was sentenced to six months in jail for assaulting a 16 year old juvenine on the eye causing it to be removed.
Thabisile Mtambo (18) pleaded not guilty to assault before Bulawayo magistrate Sheunesu Matova, but was convicted.
He was sentenced to 12 months in jail. Six months of the sentence were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
On being asked why he committed the offence. Mtambo said It was the complainant and his colleagues who started attacking me and I fought back.
The court heard that on December 22 2015 at 6pm Mtambo approached the 16 year old juvenile and hit him with a stone on the left eye without clear reason. This resulted to the juvenile's eye being removed as it was seriously damaged.
