Daily News reported that MDC-T secretary for international relations Jameson Timba yesterday confirmed the then State Security minister Nicholas Goche reportedly approached MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai after President Mugabe's defeat in 2008 elections, seeking to secure concessions on behalf of Mugabe.
Goche met Timba and the MDC-T deputy treasurer Elton Mangoma at the offices of an unnamed private company executive.
According to Timba, Goche claimed to be in charge of all the security ministries since there was no functional government and wanted to ensure that some if his party members who had won parliamentary seats would be accommodated in a transitional government led by Tsvangirai.
Goche indicated at the meeting that Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa, who was supposed to be part of the delegation had refused to take part saying he was angry that Mugabe had cost them the elections.
