Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo yesterday lashed out at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) after officials undertook 'a fictitious nonsensical lifestyle audit' on him.
Zimra, according to Chivayo demanded a whopping $1,4 million.
Chivayo told Zimra 'to go to hell'.
He dared Zimra in his statement announcing his pullout of sponsoring Zifa.
His rant was inspired by Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa revelations that he has not been paid two months' salary and is facing eviction.
"As soccer supporters journalists must also all remember I'm doing something no Zimbabwean has ever done since independence so the least I expect is appreciation.
"Most of you broke idiots sit around in corners assuming that I did this for the publicity . . . HELL NO . . . who would be so stupid to spend $600 000 for mere publicity.
"I'm in the paper for signing massive deals often and that's good enough publicity, save to say this page, instagram, snap chat and my twitter account. I'm doing this out of the goodness of my heart to support the nation. How many of you have ever seen what $10 000 looks like in real life now imagine $600 000 in these tough times.
"If anything sponsoring soccer has, in fact, caused me more headaches than joy . . . the tax man came chasing after me and did a fictitious nonsensical lifestyle audit and demanded $1,4 million.
He added "I'm not afraid because God looks after me at all times. I've made it very clear before that I can never ever be intimidated for supporting national programmes. I'm a citizen of this country and I'm equally protected by the Constitution so the law will take its course."
The ex-convict said he has no apology on how he spends his money.
Zimra did not confirm or deny whether they have conducted any lifestyle audits on the flamboyant businessman.
