Harare City Council is reportedly intending to sell Harare Gardens to a private firm which serves as a historical place for the city.
Harare Resident Trust said the council intends to sell the Harare Gardens to a private firm which serves as a historical place for the city.
"This decision was made during a Special Council meeting were the Finance Committee presented it to the house," said the trust. "The council must consider that the Harare Gardens serve as a recreational facility and breathing space for the city."
The trust said the council is only concerned with making money and not considering the views of residents.
"Those firms who want spaces should be allocated at outskirts," said the trust.
