ZIFA says it soon be announcing a major investor that is set to become the major sponsor for the Zimbabwe national soccer team, the Warriors, as well as the Mighty Warriors.
ZIFA President, Phillip Chiyangwa said the local football governing body is in the midst of negotiations with a sponsor that could transform the plight of Zimbabwean football.
Chiyangwa said the sponsor's identity will be disclosed soon after negotiations are wrapped up.
ZIFA have in recent months been surviving on the funds of benefactor, Wicknell Chivayo.
A fallout with the media however saw Chivayo announcing that he would no longer be sponsoring the national teams.
Chiyangwa however maintained that his association is in good standing with Chivayo.
Zimbabwean football has in the past few years struggled to secure a major sponsor.
Some have attributed this to a poor image coupled with a harsh economic climate.
If ZIFA manages to lure a major sponsor, many feel this could perhaps mark a new chapter in Zimbabwean football.
