A political commentator Rejoice Ngwenya has called on the media representing organisations to gang up and challenge the move by government through the Minister of Information Technology Supa Mandiwanzira to censor the use of social media.
Ngwenya said Zimbabwe information minister, Supa Mandiwanzira owns a 'private' radio station and he want people to support his station by listening to it - using our freedom of choice and access to information.
"On the other hand in his portfolio as Mugabe's minister, he is considering 'banning' Face Book, Whatsapp and Twitter because he claims we use social networks 'to insult Mugabe," he said. "Of course we hope MISA, MMPZ, VMCZ and ZLHR take him to constitutional court and oppose this madness."
He said if he succeeds in his diabolic mission to 'control social networks', people will have no choice but to start a ZiFM must fall campaign - boycotting with all companies that advertise on his station.
