Mugabe failed policies have resulted in massive unemployment- ZimFirst leader

ZimFirst leader Maxwell Shumba has said President Robert Mugabe's failed policies have led to massive unemployment prompting the people to venture into vending as a source of livelihood.
He said vending across the country is now the only key source of income to nearly 95 % of men and women of employable age who need to put food on the table, send their children to school , send their loved ones to hospital when sick or bury their departed family members when the time calls.
"Mugabe knows the reason why we have the majority of our population out vending on the street pavements. But he is a dictator. Dictators don't care and that's no surprise to anybody," Shumba said. "Opposition leaders who won elections to run these city councils fully understand the reasons why our people are in the street they are expected to show that they care in deed to talk only."
He said it is common knowledge that our people have not lived in peace universally since coming on the scene of Mugabe with his oppressive machine called Zanu PF.
"In an effort to change their fortunes people rightfully trusted that political party that came promising 'change' from Mugabe induced misery. At rallies they bellowed that if they voted for their political party sponsored candidates for city councillor, life would change for the better," he said. "En mass people the people became true believers and put their vote on the so called 'people's candidates for councillors'. In so doing they were hoping to teach Zanu PF a lesson on how to treat its citizens fairly and how a new regime would run institutions under their stewardship."
Shumba said indeed, when they voted for the new opposition city fathers into office they hoped that in times of crisis the the people first city fathers would find a solution to their problems or at least stand by the people in times of need.
"They sincerely hoped that in the face of massive unemployment and joblessness, the city fathers would be in the same trenches with them demanding that Mugabe deliver on the 2.2 million jobs he promised before the elections of 2013," he said.
"But instead what do the city fathers do? Exactly what Mugabe did with Murambatsvina. With Murambatsvina, Mugabe bulldozed people's dwellings without offering alternative accommodation. Fair enough, he is a dictator whom we want to see gone yesterday. Mugabe sent his police with baton sticks, loaded guns and teargases to cow the citizens before they could build a mass protest against the evil deeds. Does this sound familiar in the streets of Bulawayo today? Mugabe set a blueprint and the gullible city councils they blind to the fact that they are implementing the Mugabe's evil tactics to the letter," he said.
"Instead of offering a solution to the people who elected them they came waving baton sticks ready to beat up the very same people who voted for them. Imbeciles. Today to the vendor who spent a sleepless night thinking about the uncertainty of the following day in the city did not have Mugabe to blame for the misery. It is the city council who is causing the nightmare."
Shumba said if it's Mugabe, Chombo, Kasukuwere's fault, then, why are these city councillors still going to the council to work or still collecting a paycheck?
He said why don't they resign en mass to put pressure on Mugabe if they are with the people?
"Where is the leader of the party who canvassed votes for them? Why didn't he lead his councillors to stand with the people if be meant what he said when he campaigned for them? The answer ton why they opt not to take the route is simple," he said. "These councillors and the political party that backed them are in it for themselves . That has been proven beyond doubt. They are GREEDY and don't care a hoot about the needy. Just like the Zanu PF of lot the current city father care less about the people. All they as that trey successful managed to kick off Zanu PF apparatchiks from the feeding trow and it's their heartlessly think that now it's their turn to fatten their own bellies."
Shumba said council money they stole from councils across the country, council land they misappropriated.
"Our kids soccer playgrounds are gone at the hands of the pseudo 'Change' city councillors. How dare claim that Mugabe brutality should stop whilst the institution under you practice the same . Isn't it on record that some the same 'change councillors built their own houses or day cares run by their spouses on the said council land after either paying a song or nothing at all. How do they sleep ? Isn't this the same question we have asked Mugabe and Zanu PF time and again for 35 years?" he said.
"In Bulawayo vendors are asking the same question . How do you sleep you councillors elected in the back of the 'change' ticket? And again who is to blame for the people's misery at the hands of the city council? Where does the buck stop? Why did opposition to Mugabe entities run for city elections if they are powerless to change the people's lives?"
Shumba said the question that begs an answer is who made the decision to sent the city police today to beat up the vendors in Bulawayo?
"We know It's not Mugabe, no it's not. We can't be blaming Mugabe for everything . Where does the mother political party come in all this?
Then the big One. If the political entity fails to run mere city councils, can it be entrusted to run a government whose complexity requires complex thought processes? You be the judge," he said.
"In conclusion, the people of Bulawayo should know by now that they made a mistake to vote the jackals, hyenas and wolves who came in sheep's clothing during the last elections. Today's lesson is loud enough for people to see how heartless a so called people!s council is. People in Bulawayo and other city councils across the country should by now know that they were duped and in anger against Mugabe regime they failed to to do due diligence against the courtiers of their vote."
He said his party is an alternative to solve these problems.
"A people first council will never raise a button stick against it's people. A people first and country first will never complete with Zanu PF in making our people shed painful tears. NO. The buck stops with the party running the city council and there is no escaping culpability for parties that sponsor candidates for city councillors elections," he said.
"City policy police should not be set upon the people, period. Instead, solutions should be found to solve the people's basic needs to earn an income no matter what and that means resigning en mass and stand with the people? That is a clear demonstration of accountability to the owners of the votes who are the people. The same people who were chased away from the streets with no alter tube solution."
