PRIME Minister Mr Morgan Tsvangirai told shameful lies in his recently published book about the Movement for Democratic Change split of 12 October 2005, a senior politician and legal expert has said.
Addressing a rally at Magwegwe Hall during the weekend, Professor Welshman Ncube who leads a breakaway faction of the MDC said the PM was a "habitual liar" who is clearly out of "political; depth" in the country.
Prof Ncube said "Tsvangirai blamed Matombo (Isaac Matongo the late MDC chairman before the split) for calling for a vote to decide if the party should contest in the senatorial elections.
"He (Tsvangirai) said the vote latter lead to the split. That was a lie. You cannot lead a country if you are that untruthful, said Prof Ncube.
He added that the party decided to avoid the vote because it was potentially divisive.
"Six of the party senior leaders including myself and Tsvangirai were tasked with making the decision. We put it to a vote and Tsvangirai was the only one against the idea of participating. He then overruled us and called for party members to vote on that issue.
"Any MDC member can attest to that. Anyone who fails to write the truth in his own book is not fit to be president," said Prof Ncube.
PM Tsvangirai recently published a controversial book titled: "At the Deep End" which book has been subject to heavy criticism from many political activists.
