Angry residents burns thugs to death

THE residents claimed the two men were known thugs who robbed locals at knife or gunpoint.

daily Sun reported that so when they allegedly caught them breaking into a house at Vlei in Sweet Home Farm, Nyanga a crowd gathered, baying for their blood.

They moered the men and took them to a hole near the railway tracks and burned them alive.

The horror incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Jack Miller (35) said: "I heard that residents caught the thugs while they were breaking into a house.

"They were beaten, tortured and burned to death."

Another resident said: "The two thugs were feared in the area.

"They always robbed people with a knife or toy gun.

"But you wouldn't know it was a toy gun until you heard them bragging in the taverns that they used a toy to rob people."

A group of women told Daily Sun they were gatvol of the thugs.

They complained that the young men would break into their houses and steal their belongings.

"We decided to shock their friends so they think twice before they steal in our kasi," said one of the women.

Western Cape police spokesman Captain Frederick van Wyk confirmed that two unidentified burned bodies were found in a hole near the railway tracks.

"A double murder case has been opened for investigation," said Van Wyk.
