Working for ZBC now is like driving a busy without wheels- Eric Knight

Former ZBC presenter Eric Knight has likened the current state of affairs at the ZBC to a bus without wheels saying for him to come back home and work for it was not currently possible.
"As I celebrate with all other Media Practitioners all over the world, I have a short message especially to people from my beloved country Zimbabwe. Almost everyday and everywhere I go, I get countless inquiries from all over the world about going back to ZBC," Knight said. "I will be very clear and concise and hopefully be understood. Joining ZBC at the moment is like being asked to drive a bus with all wheels shaking just because passengers think you are an excellent driver. You cant save a looming disaster under such circumstances. The 4 wheels need to be replaced by all new ones or at least tightened."
He said in as much as he would want his national Broadcaster to do well, until and unless it becomes an institution that genuinely and honestly fulfills its mandate to freely and professionally serve the nation, its a No from him.
"I will only work for a station that is completely committed to serving the nation impartially, and I mean total impartiality. I don't mix Broadcasting and Politics even though the two are part of the colours you will find on my coat of many colours," he said. "The two have separate platforms. I am a people's Broadcaster regardless of any political Party inclination. My fans are the very same people who vote for MDC, Zanu People First, Zapu and all. That is how my maker designed me and no one can change me."
Knight said he fully appreciate those who are eager to see his return but until there is a new bus with new wheels and a clearly defined destination, he can't drive it.
"I would rather sell Bananas. Forward with Press Freedom. Congratulations to every Journalist, Media Practitioner who knows that they are doing what they should be doing, and not doing what they should not do. God bless Zimbabwe! God bless Africa," he said.
