ZIMBABWE will hold elections soon after the completion of the constitution despite MDC formations' resistance to have the  poll soon, Zanu-PF national chairman, Simon Khaya Moyo said yesterday.

Khaya Moyo said the conditions being set by the formations was an attempt to buy time because they did not want to leave the comfort of being in Government.

In separate meetings with diplomats who paid a courtesy call on him yesterday, Khaya Moyo said there was no reason for the inclusive Government to continue because it was dysfunctional.

He met ambassadors Mohammad Pournajaf and Dr Panduleni Shingenge from Iran and Namibia respectively.

"The quicker we hold elections the better for us because we can- not continue with this relationship with people who continue to be guided by the West," Khaya Moyo said.

Khaya Moyo said Zanu-PF was encouraging its party supporters to refrain from any form of violence.

In the meeting with Ambassador Shingenge, Khaya Moyo said the relationship between Zanu-PF and Swapo had come a long way.

Khaya Moyo said the forthcoming Zanu-PF annual national people's conference to be hosted by Bulawayo Province was going to make far-reaching decisions.

Zanu-PF, he said was determined to continue with programmes that empowered the people.
