Mugabe donates 30 tonnes of bananas to starving villagers

President Robert Mugabe on Friday gave starving Gutu villagers 30 tonnes of bananas to fight hunger.
Masvingo has been one of the hardest hit provinces with more than half of the 25,000 reported livestock deaths and 90 percent of inadequate water supplies for agriculture.
Mugabe held a rally in Gutu on Friday.
The banana donation was announced by Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Prisca Mupfumira.
She said besides the banana's, Mugabe who has over the years said no single Zimbabwean will die of hunger also donated 90 tonnes of maize, cassava, 50 bales of clothes for distribution in Masvingo province.
