An appeal application for bail by six jailed MDC-T activists who are facing charges of murdering a police officer will be heard at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, 09 November by Justice Luke Malaba.
The six, Councillor Tungamirai Madzokere of Ward 32 in Glen View, Lazarus Maengahama, Stanford Maengahama, Rebecca Mafukeni, Yvonne Musarurwa, and Phineas Nhatarikwa, are part of 28 MDC-T members who were arrested in May on allegations of murdering a police officer at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre.
The others have been granted bail at the High Court but the six including the MDC-T Youth Assembly chairperson, Solomon Madzore are still in remand prison.
They were denied bail at the High Court after the State opposed bail claiming that they were a flight risk.
The police officer was murdered at a night club in Glen Views 3.
The state alleges that the Police Inspector was killed by MDC-T supporters while his colleague was left for dead after being brutalised at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre in Harare.
The cops had gone to investigate an illegal meeting which MDC-T youths were holding at the shopping centre.
The Inspector, was commander of the Police Reaction Group.
