QATAR-BASED Zimbabwean hotel employee Henford Mhungu last week gained overnight popularity when American musician and actor Tyrese Gibson posted a video on social media praising Mhungu's dedication to his family and marriage.
The Fast and Furious star was in Qatar as part of his first vacation in seven years where among other things he was meeting with the ruling family.
However, despite his hectic schedule, Gibson had time to pay gratitude to a Zimbo - Mhungu - who was his personal butler during his stay in the Arab state.
In a one minute video, Gibson reverses roles and acts as the Zimbo's butler, serving him orange juice as a sign of respect and celebration to his eight-year marriage to Charity Nyasvingo.
"It doesn't matter what level of status you get to in life but if someone is married, happily married and they are in a successful marriage, you should be willing to get advice from them. This man is my butler in Dubai and has been married for eight years,'' said Gibson in the video he made with Mhungu.
The Zimbo, clad in the butler's black suit and bow-tie attributes his long marriage to putting God first and having the same level of understanding with his wife.
"The secret behind my long marriage is the level of understanding between me and my wife that is spiritually, mentally, physically, financially and putting God first in everything," said Mhungu.
The actor congratulated the Zimbabwean on the sacred institution.
"I wish Henford and his wife Charity Nyasvingo joy, love and peace all the way from Qatar," said Gibson.
Later, Gibson is seen standing at a server's point of his hotel room bar, while Mhungu sits at one of the bar stools accepting a glass of orange juice from the famed actor.
"Today I am with my man Henford, his job is to be my butler but today I told him that I want to have him relax and make him feel nice and respected. I am going to serve him drinks and make him happy and relaxed today," said
Gibson, before serving him a glass of orange juice, after which both make a toast to Zimbabwe.
Gibson posted a picture with Mhungu on his Instagram account where he hinted on a future Zimbabwe visit. The video is also on Facebook and YouTube.
"Henford is my butler - he's a good man and he wants you to know something. – #Qatar shout to all of my fans and loved ones of Zimbabwe, Africa… Henford is telling me great things!!!! I hope to come there one day… You blessed me today thank you for sharing your love story!!!" reads the Instagram post.
World-traveller Gibson is no stranger to the Middle East. The American Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, actor and model has been to that side of the world on several occasions, and even filmed "The Fast and Furious 7" in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The video clip with Mhungu was part of a series, which the star posted on social media chronicling his holiday.
