Zim victims of violence appoint ZimFirst leader Shumba as patron

Zimbabwe Victims of Political Violence Trust have appointed ZimFirst leader Maxwell Shumba as their patron.
Shumba made the announcement of his appointment through Facebook post.
In his acceptance statement as Patron of Zimbabwe Victims of Political Violence he the Zimbabwe Victims of Political Violence recently formed an association (now a Trust) to stand up for their rights.
"The victims association asked me to be their Patron and I duly accepted.. It is an honor and humbling," Shumba said. "To me it fits with my day one commitment to serve the people. This message herein is consequently is dedicated to the members of ZVPVT who are today are still struggling to cope with the reality that a black President is an author of their pain and suffering . My message to them and all other victims of Mugabe 's Zanu PF is as follows:
"I come before you to announce that I have dully accepted your invite to be the patron of your newly formed association which is aimed to bring together under one umbrella victims of political violence since independence in 1980."
He said to kick start the operation, he as patron have set up patron office that will help with technical guidance and advisory services in particular helping to set up a Trustee structure that will oversee and manage financial issues that affect victims of violence.
"Let me, at this juncture say, political violence is common in African politics and its common countries headed by dictators. Therefore, it is my intention to champion a good cause for all victims from any political party. I would like to aplaud those who came up with the noble idea to start the association that will be a voice for the violated," he said.
"ZVPVT will for sure stretch its arm wide and far to ensure no victim is left behind.
