A HARARE woman Mugove Nyamandi dragged her former husband to court seeking spousal maintenance and child support amounting to $1,114 per month.
Nyamandi took Rangarirai Gwari to court citing that he was failing to look after their 11 months old child.
"I need US$514 for myself and US$600 for the child a month," said Mugove
Mugove, who is currently employed, told the court that she earns peanuts and therefore she needed assistance from her husband whom she is legally married to.
"My husband earns about US$5,000 monthly," she said.
"I require spousal maintenance because I am now ill and the money I make is not enough," said the complainant.
Magistrate Yeukai Dzuda dismissed Mugove's request for spousal maintenance as she is currently employed.
Gwari, who did not attend the court ruling, was ordered to pay US$500 for the minor child's maintenance monthly.
