Outspoken Zanu PF youth member Fidelis Fengu has said the ruling Zanu PF needs reforms as the people on the ground were not happy about its failure to implement its 2013 election promises.

"I put it to you that the emotional posts on social media under the ‪#‎ThisFlag‬ campaign are a reflection of the people's mood on the ground , these are real people who had expectations when they voted in 2013 , they had dreams of a better Zimbabwe as described by the Zanu PF manifesto," said Fengu.

"Three years down the line , people wish they still had a GNU , the economic situation got worse , and Zanu PF hasn't reported back on its campaign promises to the people. To this end I put it to you that Zanu PF needs reform."

Fengu said the leaders are now too comfortable, they bask in the glory of Gushungo (President Robert Mugabe)  and the First Lady Grace Mugabe and do not do anything to fulfill campaign promises or a better Zimbabwe.

"The supporters bask in the glory of leaders, they cannot speak out against what is wrong , they fear being in the wrong basket. they say down with Morgan Tsvangirai, yet they should be saying down with those leaders for not implementing what they promised the people," he said.

"Solutions are there but our leaders are too busy to listen to those with solutions, our government and party systems are obsolete and very backward , we can afford ma Range rover but cannot afford equipment to improve service delivery.. We have lost direction totally and spend most of our time fighting and chasing selfish interests and not national interests."

Fengu said party structures are not focusing on building a better country and a better party, they are focused on succession struggles, political power and not economic development.

"Zanu PF has problems , and these problems have affected policy making and implementation and have brought problems to the masses that we are meant to serve," he said.

"2018 I will campaign for Zanu PF and we will win the elections , but for now I am campaigning for reform within Zanu PF. Lets stop blaming sanctions, stop blaming Tsvangirai or America or Britain , the people did not elect us to give excuses but they elected us to deliver our promises."
