Zanu-PF youth want Harare airport named after Mugabe
25 May 2016 at 12:55hrs | Views
ZANU PF Youth league leadership says it has resolved that Harare International Airport should be named after President Robert Mugabe.
The suggestion is part of the meeting's resolutions that will be presented at the Zanu-PF conference.
Zanu-PF says this is not new since another airport in Bulawayo is named after the late vice president Joshua Nkomo.
If the Harare province resolution is passed this will be the second time the airport will be renamed. It was originally known as Salisbury Airport but was renamed Harare International Airport after independence in 1980.
Almost every city and town in the country has a road or street or avenue named after President Mugabe.
