President Robert Mugabe says opposition parties in country are peculiar as they hate their own country and are anti-everything Zanu-PF stands for.
Addressing thousands of Zanu-PF supporters who gathered at the Robert Mugabe Square in Harare following the One Million Man March held in solidarity with the African icon today, Mugabe said it is shocking that the opposition wishes all bad things to visit the country.
He however said with unity, detractors would find the regime change agenda a wild goose chase.
"My biggest message today is that of unity. With unity, we can shame our detractors. Now that we are gathered here, they can't stomach it but we are who we are because of the vision we have for the people of Zimbabwe. We are not like these opposition parties that wish all sorts of bad things to happen to the country," said Mugabe.
President Mugabe also slammed factionalism and indiscipline in the party.
He warned ambitious party members, saying they must learn from him, as he was never found on the ambitious side of wanting to succeed the leadership that was in place.
President Mugabe also acknowledged the success of the mobilisation of members for the march.
"The youths met some discouraging words even amongst us but they persisted [to mobilise people and resources for the event]. . .they were determined and they had a plan. And today they have succeeded. This glory you are giving the President, but the President says, it's our glory together. A glorious day for the party, a glorious day for everyone. It's a day you have organised well…a day which the Lord has made a glorious act. We thank the Lord," President Mugabe said.
On Africa Day, which the continent is celebrating today, Mugabe took the opportunity to wish all Africans well, adding that they must remember that they are free today because of the ultimate sacrifice made by their fellow sons and daughters of the continent.
