Man steals hospital bed

A daring man from Vundu Flats in Makokoba attempted to steal a bed at Mpilo Hospital.

Ronic Ndlovu aged 32 told a magistrate that he thought the hospital no longer wanted the bed.

He said he picked it at a scarp yard.

Ndlovu was intercepted by a security guard in broad daylight on May 15.

The bed is valued at $15.

'I am sorry your worship, I thought the bed was no longer needed at the hospital.

"I picked it up in the scrap yard. I wish to apologise about what happened, I will not repeat it again in future".

However he was sentenced to 15 days in jail or pay a $20 fine.
