Woman marries sister's son, fall pregnant

A Mberengwa woman - Patricia Nkomo aged 26 married her nephew after a prophet told her that  their problems will disappear.

Nkomo married Garikanani Muzini aged 32.

They appeared before Zvishavane magistrate facing incest charges.

They pleaded guilty and handed a nine month jail term each. However it was wholly suspended on  condition they perform 315 hours of community service.

In their defence the pair said they were tricked by a prophet to fall in love.

"Your wore a certain prophet  told us to be in a relationship so as to bring our problems to an end. We had no idea he was lying to us," said Muzini.

The pair went on to be intimate between March 2013  and this year until Nkomo fell pregnant.

When the pregnancy became known, they eloped.

Muzini's mother reported the matter to the police leading to their arrest.
