President Robert Mugabe is now in Papua New Guinea for the 8th Summit of African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Heads of State and Government which begins tomorrow (Monday).

Mugabe and his delegation, which include the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe, arrived at the Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby, the capital of Papau New Guinea today, ahead of the summit which kicks off with the ACP Council of Ministers meeting on Monday.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Simbarashe, who is also already in Papau New Guinea, will attend tomorrow's meeting, a precursor to the ACP Heads of State and Government Summit which is set for Tuesday.

The summit is expected to reposition ACP to the challenges of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and enhance the role of the ACP in global governance, development, peace, security and stability.

ACP member states will also meet the European Union (EU) to look at cooperation between the two blocs.

At the summit, Zimbabwe says it will tell the 94 countries, 79 from the ACP and 15 from the EU, how unfair she has been treated through illegal sanctions following her dispute with Britain over the land issue.
