The bail hearing for eight MDC-T members who are facing charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View, Harare in May will be heard at the Supreme Court tomorrow.
Councillor Tungamirai Madzokere of Ward 32 Glen View, Rebecca Mafukeni, Yvonne Musarurwa, Stanford Maengahama, Lazarus Maengahama, Stanford Mangwiro and Phineas Nhatarikwa were denied bail twice at the High Court after the judges had ruled that they were flight risks.
Their lawyer then made an appeal to be heard tomorrow by Deputy Chief Judge, Justice Luke Malaba at the Supreme Court.
Solomon Madzore, the Youth Assembly chairperson who is in detention at Chikurubi Maximum Prison is not part of those seeking bail at the Supreme Court as he was arrested after the application had already been made. Madzore, who is facing similar charges, was denied bail at the High Court last month.
The nine are part of 28 MDC-T members who were arrested following the death of a police officer at Glen View 3 Shopping Centre in May.
