Buhera South MP Joseph Chinotimba has questioned the criteria used by the Home affairs Ministry in issuing diplomatic passport amid his claims that there were some legislators who were given while others were not.
"My question is directed to the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. May the Minister enlighten us on the rumours that we are hearing that we have some of our Members of Parliament who have been given diplomatic passports yet some did not get?
"We want you to enlighten us as to whether it is true or false?
"If it is true, how can you discriminate against Members of Parliament that others get diplomatic passports and others do not get," he said.
But Deputy Home Affairs Minister Obedingwa Mguni said Chinotimba's question was misdirected and should be re-directed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Simbarashe Mumbengegwi.
