11 Jun 2016 at 18:41hrs | Views
The 10 Tajamuka/Sesjikile activists who were arrested on 09 June 2016 have been granted bail on condition that they pay USD5 000. The amount for bail now reach USD10 000 considering the other 5 activists who were arrested on 08 June 2016. The 10 activists are facing the charge of obstructing the course of justice which is claimed to have stemmed from the arrest of the 5 activists.
Meanwhile 30 more Tajamuka/Sesjikile activists were arrested today 11 June 2016 at the SQUARE. The 30 activists are in police cells at Harare Central Police station.
#Tajamuka_Sesjikile still maintain its initial position that the high bail charges and continued arrests are deliberately planned control factor to the continued stay at Africa Unit Square. We share the same sentiments with the public that the USD15billion diamond money stolen, the loss of estimated USD15 billion through Illicit Financial Flows, the catastrophic avalanche of bond notes, the over 80% unemployment rate, the decaying social service delivery and other sprouting corruption activities by government officials are more costly to the lives of the general masses than the exorbitant bail charge.
TAJAMUKA/SESJIKILE continues to press demands for an urgent address to the political, social and economic maladministration facing Zimbabwe. We continue to rally the young people to deliver the generational mandate and we appeal to committed people centered war veterans of the Zimbabwean liberation struggle to protect the legacy of liberation war.
