Chief Fortune Charumbira who is also the president of the Chiefs' Council on Monday told a gathering at the official opening of Masvingo High Court that he was Zanu PF's second most senior man in the province.

Masvingo Mirror reported that he said that the only man who is more senior than him in the province is Psychomotor Activities in Education Vocational Training Minister, Josaya Hungwe.

He said this statement in front of Zanu PF second in  command, Emmerson Mnangagwa.

"I am grateful for being afforded this opportunity to speak at this August occasion although I am not on the programme. It shows you recognise authority in the province.

"The leader of the province Hungwe is not here today and I am the second in command," said Charumbira.

Meanwhile, Chief Charumbira drew the ire of Masvingo lawyers present at the ceremony when he described them as good for nothing and full of pride. He said they always lost their cases in the courts.

He said that real lawyers like Judiciary Services Commission Secretary Justice Rita Makarau were humble.

"This woman (Makarau) despite her high position is holding a small mic and running around, never complaining, she can do any assignment given to her despite being a constitutional Judge.

"There are some small little lawyers here in Masvingo who always lose cases in the courts, they are just pompous for nothing," said Charumbira.
