Vice President Joice Mujuru on Thursday while addressing a youth delegation from the republic of South Korea in Harare, said although Zimbabwe has made great strides in removing all forms of discrimination since independence, it will continue to address the issue in a more defined way in the new constititution.
The visiting youth delegation from the Republic of Korea comprises of youths from the Voluntary Agency Network of Korea, VANK, whose objectives are to market the Asian country's culture and history to the outside world and to promote Korea's national brand.
Mujuru said Zimbabwe has a rich culture and embraces all people including former Rhodesians who are living freely among the indigenous people.
Mujuru also spoke about how Zimbabwe embraced the policy of gender equality and equal opportunities for all, based on the fact that both young men and women fought side by side during the liberation struggle for the independence of the country.
She said the same principles of non-discrimination and gender equality have continued to be implemented in other government programmes and projects that include provision of education, land distribution and as well as indigenisation and economic empowerment.
The South Korean youth delegation was accompanied to Vice President Mujuru's office by the South Korean Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr. Lew Kwang-Chul and representatives of the Zimbabwe youth council and the Ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture.
Zimbabwe and the Republic of Korea enjoy warm relations in various spheres including trade.
