Military parade held for Muchemwa

A military funeral parade has been held in honour of the late national hero Retired Brigadier General Felix Muchemwa at One Commando barracks in the capital.
Proceedings started with the traditional march to the parade square followed by the laying of wrists.
First to lay was the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Constantine Chiwenga followed by Commander Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant General Philip Valerio Sibanda while Air Vice-Marshal Shebba Brighton Shumbayaonda laid the wrist on behalf of Commander Air Force of Zimbabwe Air Marshal Perence Shiri.
Defence Minister Dr Sydney Sekeramayi who worked closely with the late national hero as key physicians during the war of liberation said the country has been robbed of a dedicated and honest cadre who gave his all for the liberation of Zimbabwe.
General Chiwenga chronicled the history of the late national hero and paid tribute to the former health minister for his immense contributions during the struggle and in post independence era.
After the parade his body was flown to his farm in Headlands.
