John Nkomo's mother buried

The late Gogo MaDube, mother to the late Vice President John Landa Nkomo has been laid to rest at the family rural home in Tsholotsho.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life convened at the Nkomo homestead to bid farewell to the late Gogo MaDube who passed away in Bulawayo on Tuesday.
Among those who attended the burial were government ministers, Zanu PF Matabeleland North leadership and members of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church.
Gogo MaDube will be remembered for the Christian values she instilled in the entire family, according to the speakers who attended the burial.
The Minister of State for Matabeleland North Province, Ambassador Cain Mathema said a book should be written depicting the life of the Gogo MaDube and Nkomo so that the nation may have access to their life experiences which are important in the history of the country.
Zanu PF Secretary for Finance, Dr Obert Mpofu said as one of the few women whose children became Vice President, she led by example and instilled values that were uplifted by her son, Nkomo in his call for peace and unity.
Born on the 12th of February in 1904, Gogo Macitshi Dube was one of the oldest persons in the country.
She was been married to Mr Lufele Nkomo who sadly passed away 53 years ago after they had been blessed with nine children.
She is survived by six children, 50 grand children,79 great grand children and 31 great great grand children.
