ZEC officially open Electoral Commission Forum of Sadc

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission will officially open the Electoral Commission Forum of the Southern African Development Community new commissioners' orientation and training workshop on Wednesday June 22 at the Rainbow Towers Mezzanine 1 in Harare.
In a statement ZEC said the purpose of the exercise is to engage the newly appointed members of the respective electoral commission in ECF-Sadc on the mechanics, principles and good practices in the electoral fields and to equip them with knowledge and skills to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, transparency and accountability.
"The ECF-Sadc is a regional body comprising all electoral management bodies of Sadc member states. It is through this forum that members cooperate and support each other on electorate matters," reads the statement. "The hosting of such important meeting by ZEC follows its election to the Presidency of the forum at the 16th annual general conference held in August 2014 in Mauritius."
