Margaret Dongo, a firebrand politician famed for calling Zanu-PF men "(Robert) Mugabe's wives" has suffered a tragedy following the death of her younger son, Elton, in an accident.
A relative who declined to be named confirmed the incident, saying Elton overturned in a scotch cart at Dongo's farm in Mhondoro yesterday.
Dongo has in recent years spent most of her time at the farm.
He was taken to Parirenyatwa hospital in Harare where the relative said he passed on this morning.
Elton was in his 20s and married with two children.
Dongo is now the chairperson of the Zimbabwe People First party women's wing.
The party is led by her liberation war colleague, Joice Mujuru.
Dongo, a former Zanu (PF) member, has had colourful political history, being the first woman to form a party in 1998 after breaking away from Zanu-PF which she accused electoral fraud.
She won a re-run of elections in Sunningdale in Harare, going on to light up parliament with her candid talk.
