Negotiations over salary dates between the government and the civil service apex body ended in a deadlock with the meeting set to resume on Monday, the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare,  Prisca Mupfumira has confirmed.

Wednesday's negotiations were also attended by stakeholders from the health sector, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Governor, Dr John Mangundya and Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa.

Emerging from the closed door discussions, Minister Mupfumira said the salary dates for June will remain as earlier advised but promised to revert to the gazetted dates in July.

The Apex Council however expressed concern over the unilateral decision taken by the government to change the salary dates, saying it has inconvenienced them for the month of June.
