Former ZBC presenter Eric Knight has condemned the arrest of the protestors who staged a sleep in at the Africa Unity Square demanding government to solve the economic crisis.
Police recently arrested the protesters and they were taken to court where they were granted $1000 bail each.
He said it was sad that when top officials are engaged in corrupt activities they are left free while those who just peaceful protest are arrested on flimsy charges
"Surely how do you expect us to keep quiet. 15 Billion US dollars disappear in the country, not even one arrest. A few people gather for peaceful demonstrations, they are arrested within a twinkle of an eye," Knight said.
"Kana ndimiwo/Lani liyazibonela. This is pathetic, just pathetic application of the rule of law, For sure Zimbabwe's rule of law is a failure, it now needs the rule of God. God bless Zimbabwe! God bless Africa!"
President Robert Mugabe recently said $15 billion disappeared from the diamonds revenue collected in Marange diamonds mines.
