A fierce battle pitting Harare vendors operating within the Central Business district and the Zimbabwe Republic Police is ongoing this evening.
According to social media, police moved in to destroy vendors' tuck-shops, sparking a confrontation.
Alpha Media Holdings chairman Trevor Ncube tweeted on the saga on his official account.
"DEVELOPING STORY 1/2 . Harare vendors on 3rd/Robert Mugabe in confrontation with police after their tuckshops were destroyed.
"2. Police say tuckshops illegal but vendors claim to have Harare council permits".
