57 people have so far been arrested for inciting and engaging in public violence in Epworth and Mabvuku this Monday morning.
The violence erupted as commuter omnibus crews fought running battles with the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and barricaded some sections of Chiremba and Mutare roads, protesting against the frequency of roadblocks.
Police Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrests and urged peace-loving Zimbabweans to abide by the rule of law.
Today's violence follows other disturbances that rocked Beitbridge border post on Friday as people protested against the government ban on the importation of goods that are available locally.
