'Man spends day raping neighbour's daughter'

A 37-YEAR-OLD Harare man has been taken to court on allegations of raping his neighbour's 14-year-old daughter after offering her transport to school.

The suspect was not asked to plead to two counts of rape when he appeared before magistrate Noel Mupeiwa.

Prosecutor Tinashe Makiya told court that on November 6 last year, the suspect picked the girl from a bus stop in Waterfalls and took her to a city lodge, where he allegedly abused her the whole day.

After allegedly abusing the girl, the suspect ordered her to take a shower and later drove her home after ordering her not to tell anyone, but the teenage girl would not hide her alleged abuse.
