Kereke's rape evidence described as lame

Private prosecutor Charles Warara who is handling Bikita West legislator Munyaradzi Kereke's rape trial yesterday described the latter's evidence as lame saying it served to promote his  interests yet it did not exonerate him from the offences he was facing.

In his closing submission Warara told the court that evidence given by Kereke and his witnesses was consistent, something the court should look at when it finalizes the case next Monday.

Magistrate Noel Mupeiwa will hand down his ruling on Monday.
