The Harare civil court has barred a Harare woman from visiting public toilets at Gulf Complex because she is in the habit of abusing a toilet cleaner stationed there. The woman Moila Zimunda is said to be in the habit of harassing Sandra Huni, a toilet cleaner. "I am having problems with this woman she is coming to my workplace harassing me in front of my colleagues and onlookers.
"She is a product supplier at Gulf Complex and I am a general hand, I clean toilets so she is always harassing me at my workplace," said Sandra. She went on to tell the court that Moila was harassing her because she was having an affair with one of her relatives. "She says she is related to my current boyfriend, so she is saying that I should not go out with him because he is a married man.
"Even if he is married I don't know why that has anything to do with her," she said. Responding to the claims, Moila conceded that she was harassing Sandra. She said that she was doing so because of the adulterous relationship she was having with her relative. "Yes I did all that she has said because I am not happy with what she is doing; she is a married woman and my uncle is married as well but they are having a relationship," said Moila.
She pleaded with the court to lift the toilet ban because it was her nearest place of convenience. "If the court honours her application, it means it would be hard for me to visit the toilets because she cleans toilets there and I am a supplier at that complex," she said.
However, magistrate Rebecca Tahwa, who presided over the case, granted the peace order which states that Moila was not supposed to disturb Sandra's peace or to visit her at her workplace. That meant that she will have to find somewhere else when nature calls.
