MDC-T chairman arrested in connection with botched fake gold deal

MDC-T Masvingo provincial chairman Wilstaf Sitemere has been arrested after he allegedly teamed up with 15 youths and severely assaulted another man in a botched deal involving 68 grammes of fake gold.
Sitemere allegedly teamed up with the 15 unidentified youths and assaulted Nyasha Hapanyengwi of Morningside suburb, accusing him of misleading him into buying 68 grammes of fake gold for $3 000.
Police officer commanding Masvingo Province Senior Assistant Commissioner Apollonia Munzverengi yesterday said Sitemere was being charged with assault.
He will appear in court soon.
