POLICE in Bulawayo are searching for two runaway teenage girls who escaped from their homes after their parents chided them for their wayward behaviour. Angela Ndlovu (19) and Simphiwe Moyo (15) both from Entumbane suburb escaped from home in May after being confronted by their parents.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango said Angela disappeared after her father ordered her to go to their rural home in Nkayi to look after her baby.
"She was staying with her father Jorum Ndlovu at number 3793 Emakhandeni. She disappeared on May 25 at about 3PM. She disappeared in protest after her father ordered her to go to Nkayi where she was supposed to go and take care of her child," said Insp Simango.
She said Angela escaped with $10 which she was supposed to use as her transport money to Nkayi. The police did not reveal the age of Angela's child. Insp Simango said Simphiwe escaped on May 27 after her mother Thenjiwe Moyo confronted her for having a boyfriend.
She said Simphiwe was last seen wearing a short sleeved knit top, blue skinny trousers and orange sandals. "She went missing after she had been confronted by her mother over a relationship she was having.
"She was staying at number 32937 Entumbane with her mother," she said. "Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts can contact the Zimbabwe Republic Police on landline 09-418067 or any nearest police station."
