Government upped its intimidation on civil servants by seeking their views on the controversial bond notes through a mini census.

This week, civil servants where made to fill in questionnaires, sampling their views, the Zimbabwe Independent reported.

"On Monday we were also forced to fill in questionnaires which asked for our views on the bond notes.

"We had no idea why we were being asked about the bond notes when government has already made a decision" an unnamed government worker is quoted saying.

It is understood that they filed the forms under a close watch from senior officials who threatened them against taking pictures of the forms or leaking any detail.

The bond notes have been rejected by a wide spectrum of Zimbabweans including the business sector.
