Police Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri says violence and the misuse of social media will never be tolerated in Zimbabwe.

He said this during the commissioning of housing units in Buchwa, Mberengwa.

Commissioner General Chihuri was in Buchwa where he commissioned 22 housing units for the Support Unit group that were built from the contributions made by members of the police force.

Speaking during the event Chihuri issued a stern warning to those who want to engage in acts of violence and are misusing social media, saying they will force government to take drastic measures.

He said violence will never be tolerated in Zimbabwe and that police will be out in full force to deal with unruly elements who are bent on engaging in acts of violence meant to fuel public insurgency.

On corruption, Commissioner General Chihuri said it is everyone responsibility to report cases of corruption either within police or any other sector, hinting the public and private sector are the eyes and ears of police.

The commissioning ceremony was also graced by the legislator for Mberengwa East Makhosini Hlongwane, who is also Sport and Recreation Minister, and other senior police officers.
