Teenager kills friend over a cap

A 17-year old Shurugwi teenager struck and killed his friend with an axe after a misunderstanding over a cap.

The accused is alleged to have lent his friend now deceased Anesu Matangamberi a cap but the deceased took too long to return it.

On Friday last week, Hamisi who had been demanding his cap for a long time from the deceased met Matangamberi and as usual asked for the cap.

There was a misunderstanding and the accused allegedly struck Matangamberi with the axe.

The accused was remanded in custody to July 15, 2016.
