Tsvangirai held hostage by big wigs

MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai hand picked two more vice presidents to appease a click that is bankrolling his medical bills, it has been alleged.

On Friday, Tsvangirai who is battling cancer of the colon elevated

Nelson Chamisa and Engineer Elias Mudzuri to the party vice presidency.

The appointments have since divided the party.

On Saturday, long time vice president Thokozani Khupe refuse to comment saying Tsvangirai is in a position to do.

She suggested she was not consulted.

According to state run Herald, it said Tsvangirai appointed the pair  to ease political pressure after he was diagnosed with cancer of the colon in South Africa recently.

It also fingered his wife Elizabeth as being "heavily lobbied".

"Morgan Tsvangirai is totally broke and he desperately needs lots of money for his cancer treatment. He has virtually been held hostage by the people who are footing his medical bills," it qouted an unnamed  official.

Top party members Chalton Hwende, Murisi Zvizvai and MDC-T Masvingo provincial chair James Gumbi and  Takanai Mureyi are said to be paying the medical bills.

"Morgan Tsvingirai haana mari and so he is now being manipulated by sharks that are paying his medical bills".

Bulawayo party structures are holding a series of meetings on the appointments as a majority believe Khupe is being elbowed out in the succession race.
