NewsDay says the onslaught against the Standard newspaper continued yesterday with detectives from the police's Criminal Investigations Department visiting Alpha Media Holdings hunting for editor Nevanji Madanhire.

The detectives said they wanted Nevanji in connection with a story published in the paper's issue of October 1, headlined "Mohadi, new farmers in land battle".

In the story it was reported resettled farmers in Beitbridge were accusing Home Affairs minister Kembo Mohadi of attempting to muscle them off their land, which they claimed he intended to parcel out to his son and nephew.

After failing to locate Madanhire they left strict instructions for him to report at Harare Central Police Station today.
