Pair fined for cutting trees at Mugabe's farm

Two Harare men were yesterday fined $100 after they were caught cutting trees from President Mugabe's Buckland Estates in Mashonaland East Province
Godfrey Dhausi (26) and Fortune Mutevedzi (26) pleaded not guilty to cutting, injuring, destroying or collecting or removing timber or other forest produce as defined in the Forest Act.
Harare magistrate Mrs Vongai Muchuchuti convicted the pair due to overwhelming evidence against them.
The pair was ordered to pay $100 fine or spend 30 days in prison.
The State was represented by a police officer Romaldo Zungunde.
