Tsvangirai explains VP appointments

Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai says nine out of 12 MDC provinces backed the appointment of two vice presidents contrary to allegations that he single handedly made the controversial changes.

The appointment of Elias Mudzuri and Nelson Chamisa as Tsvangirai deputies was met with howls of disapproval from his critics who argued that the move was designed to spite his other deputy Thokozani Khupe a product of the MDC elective congress in 2014.

But in statement though his spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka, Tsvangirai reiterated that the decision had been taken upon recommendation by the national council-the party's supreme decision making bossy between congresses.
